Memorial bench installed to remember Axbridge resident.
Mike Powell approached The Town Trust at the August Farmers Market asking if he could provide a bench in the Square in memory of Averil Long.
A resident of Australia, he came regularly to Axbridge to assist his aunt, Averil, who sadly passed this year.
The half round teak bench that he has kindly donated has now been installed in the Square outside the King John Hunting Lodge Museum. In this position, accompanied by year round flowers, the bench looks splendid. It not only provides much needed additional seating but also greatly enhances the appearance of the Square.
