October 2026 Meeting Summary
Matters discussed at the October meeting included:
- Bookings remain healthy in our town hall but a few timeslots are available for events. Please contact our manager.
- A new chess table has been positioned in the square. The Town Trust is grateful for the support from The Parochial Church Charities, that has helped fund the table and chairs. Chess sets will be available from Ripley’s, and The Lamb, for a deposit payment, or players are welcome to bring their own chess, or draughts pieces.
- The Town Trust is speaking to the production company from the recently filmed BBC series, Can You Keep a Secret, about hosting a premiere in the Town Hall in the spring of 2027.
- The large planters have been repositioned in the square, and planted with ‘Photinia’, an evergreen shrub.
Town Trust 150 Club – the first draw of 2026/27 took place. Thank you to everyone who has signed up to support this fundraising club, which has grown since last year. It raises much needed funds for the maintenance and enhancement of the Town Hall and Axbridge Town Square, including the flower planters.
