TOWN HALL LIGHTING UPGRADE

Visitors to the Town Hall may have noticed that the lighting in the main hall has for many decades been by old fashioned fluorescent tubes, which do not illuminate the hall well, and tend to be harsh on the eye.
The Town Hall lighting has recently been upgraded from fluorescent tubes to LED panels from organisation BLT Direct www.bltdirect.com.

This has not only reduced the cost of lighting by more than half but has also greatly improved the quality of light in the hall. In addition the LEDs have a very long life and will therefore need minimal maintenance. Fluorescent tubes contain mercury which has to be disposed of safely, they also flicker whereas LEDs give constant illumination at a daylight white colour.
