Summary of matters discussed at April’s town trust meeting.
The Town Trust
- A new town hall manager has been appointed – Mrs Katie Weir is the new manager from 4th April 2022.
- Council Chamber Security – a security system has now been installed to protect the Artefacts/Paintings and it will be fully operational shortly.
- Boiler Replacement – The boiler is over 20 years old and very inefficient and is in the business plan for replacement next year anyway so quotations are being sought to replace it asap due to the high energy costs being incurred.
- Town Hall Heating – Still investigating installing a “Hive heating Control” in the hall to provide more control of the heating system which can be switched on/off remotely depending on hall usage. The Trustees have definitely agreed to have the system installed. Now awating on Hive to assess the hall to see if it is suitable.
- Town Hall Hard Wire Electrical System – Subtantial work is planned on the electrical system. The first phase being to replace the 4 distribution boxes with a just one modern box.
