AXBRIDGE TOWN TRUST
Registered Charity: 202880
Axbridge Town Trust is a Charity that looks after many of the assets it was given well over a century ago, including the Square, the Town Hall, and various artefacts
TWO TRUSTEE VACANCIES
Vacancies now exist for the appointment of two new Trustees to complete the complement to the required number of Ten Trustees.
Representative Trustees on Axbridge Town Trust serve for a period of five years and Trust meetings are held 6 times a year on the first Mondays of February, April, June, August, October, and December in the Council Chamber in the Town Hall. Each Trustee may take on additional roles to help with the running of the Trust and its assets.
Normally notices are posted advising interested parties to contact the Trust Clerk for details with a vestry election being held in the Axbridge Church Rooms. This is a public meeting and public vote and Axbridge residents wishing to attend are welcome. Unfortunately, with the current Covid-19 restrictions it is not possible to hold such an election.
Depending on the interest shown it may be necessary to hold an election when it is safe to do so, however, the Trust is able to co-opt up to two Trustees if it so wishes, should insufficient numbers apply to warrant a future election.
The Town Trust would welcome anyone interested in joining as a Trustee to contact the Clerk (details below) for further information on how the Trust operates with the closing date for applications being 15th July 2021.
